My personal belief is that no one can focus on more than 3 important things at once! John Maxwell says “too many priorities paralyze us.” Even 3 income priorities might be a little much for some and they should cut that back to only 2. But as stated before, emergencies happen and you want to make sure that you always have some money coming in! If you choose 3 wise work priorities, you can be fairly safe in knowing that at least one of those will always be bringing in some income if you are doing it right.

(The 3 that are really working for me:

1. Freelance Writing
2. Ebay
3. Efusjon

These 3 may or may NOT work for you, but I am here to coach you and help you find the 3 that DO work for you!)

John Maxwell says “All true leaders have learned to say No to the good in order to say Yes to the best.” You will have to say “No” to quite a few things in the coming months to get your home business off the ground. This blog is all about my passion to help mom's stay home with their kids and help families get out of debt! Multiple streams of income is what is working for me, and this what I teach to others. No surveys, No parties, No lies

First, a little background information on me. Several years ago, I got very sick with my first pregnancy. Having planned to work up until the birth of my son at a school where I was the before-and-after-school director, I soon realized that was not going to happen. I had to quit my job when I was about 4 months pregnant and I needed to find a solution to our stack of bills fast! Between trips to the bathroom and doctor’s office, I researched work from home opportunities for hours and hours. Many were scams, some were legit but took a ton of time for very little pay (surveys) and others were too expensive for me to start up. I had previously been a consultant for a company that sold gourmet foods. And while it was fun and I met a lot of new people, none of my friends wanted to be a consultant and I couldn’t lug all of my supplies to house after house while I was sick and pregnant. So after a few months of “robbing Peter to pay Paul” I started a system that worked for me. This article is going to give you step-by-step instructions to take what I’ve done and apply it to your situation. This is not a “get rich quick” plan in any way. This is for people who are committed to working hard at a home based business… and paying the bills while you’re at it. If you are in this for the long haul…then this plan is for you. If you want to become an overnight success, you will have to look elsewhere.

Let me rewind a bit and say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with having home parties! In fact I personally think they are great fun and many companies are very reputable and pay their consultants a great commission. Mary Kay pays one of the greatest commissions I know of. Tastefully Simple and Creative Memories are great companies to work for, too. However, not everyone wants to be a home party consultant! This step-by-step plan is for the person who wants a home based business without the parties, scams, or lies told by recruiters who tell you they have an “easy” plan to make you a lot of money fast....

Spending Less...Earning More

After our son was born, we began to make big changes in our finances. I began to learn the art of spending less & earning more...FROM HOME! I didn't find this in 1 BIG thing....I began seeking out multiple streams of income. Here are some of the things that worked for me:

Spending Less

1. I started saving on my grocery bill in MANY ways!

take a look at http://www.couponmom.com/ they match the local grocery ads with the coupons from the paper for the previous 3 months! I've literally had a grocery bill of $170 and only paid $90! YUP I saved about $80 by using coupons on items that were ON SALE!

2. I started planning my meals for 2 weeks at a time. Check out: http://www.momsbudget.com/

This site has a bunch of cool tools to save money and free meal planning printables. I check my cupboards for things I already have, then I plan meals with what I have left and add any family favorites. I try to add 2 meatless meals per week. This REALLY saves money! Then I write down everything I need at the store and I stick to my list. I try not to make another trip to the grocery for 2 weeks unless we run out of milk or something! (this also saves money on gas!)

Earning More

1. I've created multiple streams of income

I made a list of everything that I'm really good at and I found avenues to market that. I suggest that you do the same. Many magazines accept new manuscripts as does Chicken Soup for the soul, if you are good at writing. If you are a crafter...Etsy & Ebay are great places to sell your wares! A Direct Marketing company or Home-Based Business is always a good place to make some extra income. Mary Kay, Tastefully Simple, Avon, Creative Memories are all good places to research. I've recently started working for a company called Efusjon and that has been wonderful! Check my links to the right to learn more. My friend made $19,000 with Efusjon since joining in March of 2009! It's a simple, straightforward plan that takes some work, but most of it is online marketing. You don't have to bug your friends and family like some of the other direct sales companies promote.

I pick just a few things and stick with them! I suggest getting involved in no more than 3 endeavors at the same time. Mine are freelance writing, ebay & Efusjon. These are my multiple income streams and I have set goals for each one.

2. Hard Work & Leadership Skills

Remember: Success doesn't happen overnight. You will have to work hard if you want to earn money from home. If you find someone offering you a "Get Rich Quick" opportunity...TURN THEM DOWN! Earning an income from home takes alot of work, but it does pay off! Being home for your family is worth it!

You will have to sharpen your leadership skills. Some great books to read are: Developing the Leader Within You by John Maxwell and Homemade Business by Donna Partow. Read the books and take notes!

Tribute to my husband:

My husband is an amazing Dad to my 2 year old son! I seriously think I would be insane right now if it weren't for him being so good with my son and helping out sooo very much around the house for the past few years! He comes home from work and takes our son to the park or upstairs to "play cars" so that I can do whatever I need to for a few hours before dinner. He lets me sleep in on the weekends and gets up to make eggs or pancakes for our little boy. God has given me a wonderful man and I'm so thankful for him!

Great Ideas for Father's Day:
1. Give dad a day off. We do this for mom's alot on Mother's day, but my husband needs a day off for sure! He helps so much!
2. Arrange a golf outing with his friends
3. Prepare his favorite meal and send him off to take a nap.
4. Have the kids make dad a picture with a drawing and have them write on it why you love dad so much. Have each picture framed.
5. Have the kids make dad breakfast in bed and let him do whatever he he wants for the day! :-)

This is an e-mail I just got from a friend named Donna! This is the REAL DEAL guys. I am not trying to spam anyone in anyway. I'm an average mom trying to make ends meet and believe that I've found a legitimate way after years of searching. Here is part of the e-mail:

Some scholars believe he may very well have been the only Trillionaire in history. Let's look at the whole counsel of God, not just Paul's admonition about the love of money. My heart is NOT after money. My heart is after the Kingdom...and it takes money to advance the Kingdom. Yesterday, I pledged $10,000 for a pastor's conference and $20,000-$40,000 for a well in Mozambique. There are 3,000 new orphans in Africa every day. Who will care for them?????

So shift your mindset and be open to the idea that God is sick and tired of evil people using money for evil purposes. Get radically open to the idea that God has decided to bless those people he can trust with enormous financial resources to advance his kingdom worldwide.

Remember: a home business is hard work. It's supposed to be hard work. Set office hours. Work, work, work. Pray, pray, pray. Treat this like a real job! work hard and prosper :)"

As soon as I found out I was pregnant, my desire was to stay at home with my children. I wanted to be the one raising them. Our finances, however, didn't seem like they would allow for that. So I prayed and I researched and I have been helping to make ends meet at home for almost 3 years. I firmly believe that any mom who wants to stay at home and raise her kids...CAN!
